Winter Holiday Footy Fun

‘Winter Holiday Footy Fun’ is exclusive for 6-15 year olds who are looking to get active these school holidays, whilst improving their skills and technique. Easter Holiday Footy Fun is specially designed and facilitated by Teachers, AFL/W & AFL players whom create an environment with an emphasis on fun, enjoyment and maximum participation. Thursday 6th and Friday 7th July, 2017.

Brock Mclean

Brock Mclean

Specialist Coach

Brock joins the team after an established and successful AFL career. Brock played 157 AFL games (94 for Melbourne and 63 for Carlton). Brock was drafted by the Melbourne Football Club with pick #5 in the National Draft. McLean is giving back to grass roots football and is excited about being one of the specialist coaches on Leaders Sports clinics. He still has a great passion for the game, which has seen him return to play at his junior club Aberfeldie in the EDFL.

Ryan Allan

Ryan Allan

Founder,Program Coordinator

Ryan is a qualified primary and secondary teacher, registered with the VIT (Victorian Institute of Teaching), and is currently teaching grade 5 at Alamanda College. His love and commitment to AFL, has seen him represent the Coburg Football Club at VFL (Victorian Football League) level, as well as representing Victoria in an under 23 game. Ryan is currently playing for the Aberfeldie Football Club in the EDFL (Essendon District Football League).

Laynton Allan

Laynton Allan

Founder, Program Coordinator

Laynton is our most qualified team member, he completed a double degree at Monash University in 2008. He is a registered nurse, first aid qualified officer, qualified teacher and a senior level coach. He has exceptional people skills and is an enthusiastic and devoted educator. Laynton has a strong passion for promoting physical education. Laynton is currently playing for the Manningham Football Club where he is a senior level coach and a valued leader around the club.

Josh Toy

Josh Toy

Specialist Coach

Josh was drafted by the Gold Coast Suns as one of the clubs underage recruits. He played in the Suns first season, in 2011. Josh was a part of Gold Coasts inaugural team in round 2. He played 11 games averaging 12 disposals per game. He went on to play a total of 16 AFL games until a heart condition prohibited him from playing at the highest level. Josh is currently studying PE teaching at university and dominates for the Aberfeldie football club.

Julia Allan

Julia Allan

Specialist Coach

Julia is another member of the Allan family. She is the cousin to Laynton and Ryan and often recalls the intense sporting matches at family functions. Julia has excelled in her sport and her passion for the field has seen her pursue a successful career as a Sports Physiotherapist. Julia graduated from Latrobe University with a Masters in Physiotherapy in 2012. Her progression in her work has seen her physio for the Australian All Star Basketball team-China 2014 as well as the Melbourne Heart Soccer Club in the Hyundai A league. Most recently starting her own blogging site, Athlete Advantage. http://athleteadvantage.com.au/ Julia’s genuine love and commitment for the game has seen her accoladed with multiple best and fairest awards at club and league level. Julia is currently playing VNL level Netball for North East Blaze. View team

Courtney Johns

Courtney Johns

Courtney joins the team after an AFL career spending 7 years at the Essendon Football Club. Courtney was recruited by Essendon from East Fremantle (WAFL). Courtney is currently playing for the Aberfeldie Football Club where he has been since 2011. Courtney has a tremendous rapport with young aspiring athletes and has previously supported the ‘Footys4All’ foundation. Leaders Sports are extremely lucky to have Courtney as one of our specialist coaches.

Marc Goodwin

Marc Goodwin

Specialist Coach

Marc is a welcomed addition to the team. He has a wealth of experience with playing and coaching basketball. Marc has played at state level basketball which has seen him play with and against NBA stars including, Matthew Dellavadoa, Dante Exum (above) and Patty Mills. Marc earned a contract at Waverley in the BIG V Basketball Association, unfortunately he suffered a torn Achilles tendon which sidelined him for a season. He is currently playing for Melbourne Uni.

Rachel Dovatson

Rachel Dovatson

Specialist Coach

Rachel is a dedicated and committed teacher who graduated from Victoria University in 2014. She is registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching. She is currently teaching grade 2 at a grammar school Caroline Springs. Rachel has a strong passion for sports in particularly Netball. She began playing netball from a young age and her love for the sport has seen her progress through the ranks. She has played at VNL (Victorian Netball League) level for Ballarat Pride. She has since returned to local level Netball where she plays in the BFNL (Ballarat Football and Netball League) where Rachel plays for the Ballarat Swans. She is a welcomed addition to the Leaders Sports team and is looking forward to teaching and coaching on the up-coming point cook clinic.

Brennan is one of the most experienced members of of our valued team. He has played combined, over 200 senior football games for the Cobram Football Club, Uni Blacks Football Club and the North Old Boys Football Club’s. Brennan is a registered teacher with the VIT and has been working as a primary teacher for the past 6 years.
